Rubberseal is proud to have supported Ata Studio, a progressive, architect-led design practice, in delivering a beautifully designed new-build home in Central Scotland. The property seamlessly integrates modern architecture with sustainable building practices, with a key feature being the installation of a complete Rubberseal 20-Year Warm Roof System. The result is a high-performance, environmentally conscious roof that offers excellent thermal performance, waterproofing, and aesthetic appeal.
Delivering Performance with Sustainability
From the outset, the client and architect prioritised sustainability, low energy consumption, and visual harmony with the surrounding environment. Rubberseal’s warm roof build-up was selected for its proven performance, long life expectancy, and design flexibility.
To create the correct drainage gradients while maintaining a minimal, contemporary profile, tapered insulation was incorporated into the build-up. This ensured both effective water runoff and enhanced thermal efficiency, crucial for reducing energy demands throughout the year.
As the first layer, the Rubberseal ProVap Vapour Control Layer was installed to control interstitial condensation and provide an airtight base to the system. This helped deliver a highly insulated, breathable structure with reliable long-term performance.
Green Roof Innovation with Sedum Modules
One of the standout features of this project was the inclusion of a Rubberseal Green Roof, using pre-grown Sedum modules supplied in easy-to-install trays. These modular green roof trays not only provided an instant, visually attractive finish, but also brought a range of environmental benefits, including:

For the terrace and balcony areas, quartz pavers were installed directly over the waterproofing membrane, offering a durable, refined, and practical outdoor surface. These paved areas blend functionality with aesthetics, allowing the homeowners to enjoy usable external living space that complements the green roof system.
