A 2,000m² cement asbestos roof in London required refurbishment due to weathering, surface contamination, and declining waterproofing performance. The client was looking for a cost-effective solution to restore the roof without undertaking a full replacement.
The Challenge
Over time, the existing roof had become porous and heavily affected by moss, lichen, and general environmental exposure. Replacing the roof would have been costly and disruptive, making refurbishment the preferred approach.
Key challenges included:

The Solution:
The roof was fully refurbished using the Liquiflex-Pro system, following a thorough preparation and application process to ensure long-term performance.
Process:
- Pre-clean spray applied to eliminate plant life, lichen, and moss
- Steam cleaning using a specialist DOFF system in line with current HSE guidelines
- Detailing of cracks, laps, and fixings using thickened Liquiflex-Pro and reinforcing bandage
- Application of two coats of Liquiflex-Pro membrane
- Finished with one coat of Liquitop 2C Topcoat
The Result:
The project delivered a fully restored and waterproofed roof with a clean, uniform finish across the entire 2,000m² area.
