Rubberseal was proud to support a significant roofing upgrade at a large student accommodation complex in Leeds, supplying Liquiflex Pro for a high-performance overlay system. This cold-applied liquid waterproofing solution was specified for its proven durability, ease of application, and suitability for live, occupied buildings.
Project Scope and Requirements
The initial phase of the project focused on a 1,800m² overlay to an existing PVC single ply membrane, which had reached the end of its serviceable life. The key objectives were to deliver a durable, long-lasting waterproofing solution that would cause minimal disruption to residents and avoid the need for a full roof strip.
Rubberseal recommended Liquiflex Pro, a cold-applied, elastomeric polyurethane (PU) liquid membrane, which is fully reinforced and ideal for overlay applications. As a flame-free system, Liquiflex Pro was particularly well suited to this residential setting, offering a safe, low-risk solution that could be installed while the building remained in full use.
Expansion and Continued Success
Following the successful delivery of the first phase—and excellent feedback from the site’s facilities management team—Rubberseal was asked to supply materials for the remainder of the roofing areas, totalling an additional 2,700m². This brought the total completed area to an impressive 4,600m² across the site.
The works were expertly carried out by Martin Brooks Roofing, a highly regarded contractor based in Sheffield. With extensive experience in applying liquid waterproofing systems, the team ensured a smooth, professional installation across both phases of the project.
